During the New Business Acquisition (NBA) stage, we’ll be identifying sales team makeup, and how they generate new customers in your system. We look at the outreach power statement the team is using, the targets, sales tools and the direction of the narrative. We aim to understand how quotas and goals are set, and how the sales team results are evaluated.

CBA
Current Business Acquisition

During the Current Business Acquisition (CBA) stage, we will identify current customers in your system who are extremely happy with the offerings and seek to understand how you met their expectations. We’ll examine how they were acquired and what results they received from your product or service. We will also evaluate customers who were lost in the system and attempt to understand why their expectations may not have been met, and why they weren’t retained. We’ll determine the retention rates and look for opportunities with existing customers to expand their use of products or services or improve the probability of retention.

With over 30 years of experience in publishing, licensing, e-commerce, mergers & acquisitions and business development, Jim provides an incredibly comprehensive level of business expertise and sales leadership.

In the early 2000’s Jim was presented with an opportunity to help grow InnerWorkings, a Chicago-based print management company. He built a sales team with over 200 salespeople, and in a few short years, without a lot of outside capital, he helped take the start-up from inception to a public company with $100 million in revenue in August of 2006. In addition to all of his management responsibility, he couldn’t get away from his true passion of doing the deal.

As 2007 was winding down, Jim shifted gears to take a little time away and recharge the start-up fire. During that time, he was assisting in business plan evaluations and got into the publishing business in Hawaii and the Desert Southwest. Jim developed successful business models in various industries such as the tourist arena, subscription base, and direct mail coupons, while magazines were still profitable, and sold those companies throughout 2013 to 2019. Jim also served as an executive for JigoCity, an international daily deal firm operating in six countries.

Jim continues to lend his experience to a variety of business endeavors in his next chapter, working with entrepreneurs and companies looking to develop a unique perspective on their business as they write their own journey.

He has a deep expertise in developing sales frameworks, action plans, as well as leading and motivating field and tele-sales teams. He is a sales developer at heart and has also had the opportunity to learn how to start, build, develop and increase business performance for multiple companies, a majority of which were acquired.

David is also a Keynote Speaker and Senior Master Sales Trainer. His years of speaker development and sales training programs are strong foundations of his success formula. He understands that every business is different, and the business jungle is ever evolving. “You have to adapt, progress and improve every day.”
